From an early age, the founders were shaped by the rhythm of this place: the sound of music echoing through garages, the thrill of local performances, and the inspiration that only Central Oregon’s landscapes can spark.

What began as a passion for crafting unique, expressive instruments has grown into a mission: to build premier custom guitars right here in Central Oregon—one that reflects the creativity, independence, and craftsmanship of the region itself.

Every guitar we make is influenced by the mountains, forests, and open spaces that raised us. We believe a guitar shouldn’t just be built—it should be designed, personalized, and shaped around the player who will bring it to life.

Rick Spurgin | Luthier – Creative Designer Builder

Native to Central Oregon, Rick developed an early appetite for racing and rock n' roll. His interests led to multiple successful exits in motor sports and nightlife businesses. Central Oregon Guitars is a culmination of work that merges a love for performance craft with a rockin' lifestyle product.

Carlena Keenan | Inspirational Architect

Native to Central Oregon, Carlena grew up at the feet of a talented musician, where she developed a love for guitars and all things music. Now, she is thrilled to be our creative support guru while enthusiastically motivating all of us.

Natalia Zanfardino | Lead Design Consultant

Grown in Nashville, Bend, Los Angeles, and now rockin' out in Austin, Texas, Natalia is no stranger to legendary musical influence. With years of experience and education in music, which now enhance Nat's graphic and fine art skills, COG designs reflect a history of cutting-edge artwork with a nod to traditional inspiration. 

Olivier Luciano | Operations

With years of early education in music and influenced by the Los Angeles, CA pop culture, Oliver applies his love of production, sound, and keen business acumen to the lively momentum of our company. His skills tune up any fret.

Dracula | Chief Morale Officer

Rescued in Bend, Oregon, on Halloween 2024, Dracula is the heartbeat of the COG studio. His name celebrates his spooky rescue date and those signature floppy bat ears. As a vital part of our internal development team, he specializes in cuddle-based stress management and shop silliness. A seasoned adventurer, Dracula frequently travels across state lines to keep team spirits high wherever the road takes us—making him the secret ingredient in every custom build.
